For all passionate and chauvinistic supporters of music and entertainment made in Uganda, this is particularly yours. August 19 is your day, and this is the part where you run to your calendar and highlight it in deep color – just not to take any chances. Well, because that is the day when you get to really celebrate music and theatre and fashion, TV and radio in one glitzy arts event.

This is exactly what Uganda Entertainment Awards is cooking ahead of the award ceremony slated for the third Friday of August at the 5 star Kampala Serena Hotel. According to the UEA website, this year’s episode is poised to be a classy Red carpet event, and it has confirmed Bonang Matheba as the official host.

Meanwhile revelers will get to see many of their stars in the country get recognized for their good work – if not with an award, a nomination should be good enough or a stage performance, for that matter. The gates will be open by 4pm and the lights of Victoria Hall will be flourishing with exuberance, ready to start the show at exactly 7:30 pm. Tickets are already on market and they range from UGX 50, 000 to UGX 3, 000, 000.
