France finally got rid of their slow starters reputation by putting in four goals in the first 45 before winning 5-2 vs Iceland in the quarters.

Iceland’s remarkable [fairy tale] run at Euro 2016 came to an end after France beat them 5-2 at a rainy Stade de France. Brace from Olivier Giroud and goals from Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann gave France the advantage. Iceland did score twice in the second half through Sigthórsson and B. Bjarnason to justify their fighting ability. France now take on Germany in the semis.
