PRESIDENT YOWERI K. MUSEVENI: “This afternoon, I commissioned Muni University in Arua District, that joins the growing stable of public universities in Uganda.
I also installed its first chancellor, Dr Eric Adriko.

Government has so far spent Sh13 billion on construction of the university that sits on 130 acres of land. We shall also support the university’s expansion.
To the academicians, I want to assure them that government will increase their salaries and make them competitive across the region, as our economy improves.
I also urge universities to teach marketable and purpose-driven courses.
