After four and a half years since its forming on X Factor USA, America’s all-girl music group, Fifth Harmony has hit its first major snag after the sudden departure of Camila Cabello, the fifth member of the group.

The group released a statement on Monday morning revealing the 19-year-old failed to inform her bandmates of her decision – and left it to her representatives to break the news.

Their announcement came just hours after the five of them took to the stage at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball in Florida.

The statement said: “After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well.

“You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you’ve supported us, you’ve rejoiced and cried with us, you’ve grown with us, and with your love and support, we will continue on.

“That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans.”

The 19-year-old failed to tell her band mates herself and left it to her representatives after the show

The post continued: “We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavours.

“We are excited for our future, and we can’t wait for what the new year brings.

“Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all our hearts.

The singer, as if to test his luck, released hit track Bad Things with American hip hop artist Machine Gun Kelly in October.
