The President of Uganda, Yoweri K. Museveni has called upon all Ugandans to take dominion over nature and fight drought through constant irrigation of their gardens.
President Museveni who attended Christmas prayers at Kyamate Church of Uganda in Ntungamo District alongside his wife, Janet Museveni, in his message to Ugandans emphasized that Man was created in God’s image and given dominion over nature. “We should therefore harness nature correctly,” he reiterated.
He continued: “For example, we may have little rain, this means we should do irrigation. We should have dominion over our gardens by irrigation.
The sun is good because it kills some pests but it shouldn’t affect our farming.
This means that we should preserve our wetlands and water bodies. I urge those living in wetlands to begin leaving minus fighting.
As for Ntungamo District, we have rehabilitated the road to Kabale and fixed others like Rujumbura Road.
I thank Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe for speaking about wealth creation and kisanja hakuna mchezo. We should do more commercial agriculture like dairy farming.
The government will also rehabilitate Kyamate Secondary School.”
