Three days after live relay of Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards from Los Angeles, California, Africa will finally have it’s first official glance at the show when it premieres on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) and NickToons (DStv channel 308) at 15:40 CAT on Wednesday 15 March.
This is especially good news since it will as well be the first chance to see Trevor Noah accept his award as Africa’s Favorite Star.
Trevor to win his first Nickelodeon accolade [Orange ‘blimp’] beat fellow South Africans, Pearl Thusi and Wayde Van Niekerk, Nigerians, Yemi Alade and Funke Akindele Bello and Kenyan, Lupita Nyong’o after kids across Africa voted for America’s The Daily Show host.
“Nickelodeon! And the kids! Thank you so much for this amazing award,” so he remarked while at the set of [his] The Daily Show. “I am so honored to be your Favorite African Star. Thank you so much for giving me this Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award.”
At that he pulled on a funny face, even as he peeked inside his award, quipping, “Did you know that it’s a kaleidoscope? I didn’t know that, you can see things — oh look at that! I can see Africa. Oh-oh-oh… I wanna go home. Thanks again everybody.”
This recognition from the kids comes at such a time when Noah had just been chosen as one of 10 Next Generation Leaders by Time Magazine.
When you put his African genes, together with his talent and luck, what you get is a hot package so taking the world by storm that Time Magazine cannot miss to recognize it nor the kids!
