Whereas Nigeria’s music superstars, Davido and Wizkid have turned out with the highest nominations in the 2018 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, East Africa emerged with a cool nine (9) nods.
These include Uganda’s Navio [Best Male MVP], Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee [Best Female MVP, Best Digital Artiste of The Year], Navy Kenzo [Best Duo/Group], Aslay [Best New Artiste], Diamond Platinumz [Best Male MVP], Alikiba [Best Song] and Kenya’s Sauti Sol [Best Collaboration, Best Duo/Group of the Year] among others.
The Soundcity MVP Awards Festival (“TheMVPs” or “MVP”) is an event presented by Soundcity TV which awards plaques to musicians and performers across Africa. Since 2007, the winners are chosen by the viewers and fans by visiting The MVPs’ website. and a select committee of the industry stakeholder. The first MVPs ceremony will hold on the 29th of December in Lagos, Nigeria.
The awards are presented annually and broadcast live on Soundcity TV on DStv, GOtv, TalkTalk UK, Soundcity Radio Network and Soundcity Android and iOS app as well as online on the SoundcityTV website, YouTube and other social media accounts.
This year’s ceremony is set to take place on January 12 at the Eko Convention Centre of Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.
