Dove Cameron attended her first Golden Globe Awards over the weekend in Los Angeles and was truly inspired after the event.
The Golden Globe ‘s message was about the anti-harassment and assault initiative accessory, unveiled a pin with a black and white logo “Time’s Up” along with seeing celebrities wearing black at the Sunday’s Gloden Globe Awards.
Dove Cameron for the first time was stunning at her first ever attendance at the awards show.
“Such a deep honor to have my first year at the @goldenglobes be one where I get to wear black and stand with some of hollywood’s strongest women in support of the #timesup movement,” the actress wrote about her experience.
Dove added, “The energy I felt was unparalleled, incomparable, and so deeply touching. An electric shock to the heart. A day I’ll never forget. I am truly humbled.”
While her fans loved the message as well as the way she looked at the award show, one person, unfortunately, seems to have missed the point of the movement and why choosing the Golden Globes to unite was appropriate. According to Yahoo, Instagram user @eagles76ers (who has now changed their handle to @dovecameronisahypocrite, while another person jumped in and took over the @eagles76ers handle so the original person couldn’t “have it back”) left a comment on Dove’s pic that didn’t sit well with the actress.
“All the feminism and racism talk ruined the Golden Globes. I was watching it for the awards ffs,” they wrote. Swift as the coursing river and with all the force of a great typhoon, this Disney princess laid down the law and let this person HAVE. IT.
“How horrible, to say something like that to any one at all. so insensitive, so selfish, and so inappropriate. i usually don’t reply to people who are clearly MASSIVELY under an average level IQ, but i was so personally offended by what you said, that i couldn’t let it slip by.”
“You need to take a lesson or two in compassion and perspective … please take a look at yourself. you have something ugly and dark inside of you. spread love and support, not hate and ignorance. i wish you peace, clarity, and a firm slap in the face from life. night.” Dammmmn, girl.
Twitter user @dovesmarvel took a screenshot of the encounter and praised Dove’s candor.
