Dancehall music in Uganda is sculpted after Jamaican Dancehall. It has been one of the most influential styles of music in the Ugandan music industry for the better part of the last two (2) decades.
The style of music is very similar to the Jamaican style and so like all imported genres, the only major difference is in the language used. Although most dancehall artists will perform in their local language, in this case Luganda, Swahili as well as try to mimic Jamaican patois every now and then.
When you look at her now, it is hard to imagine that a mere ten years ago, she lived in an impoverished neighborhood; with hardly enough to get by. Today, as wife to one of Uganda’s most celebrated Raga Artists, Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi swanks of being one of the most admired women in Uganda.
Rapper and TV host, Nick Cannon last week wowed his fans when he confessed his undying love for R & B Superstar, Beyonce Knowles that was never reciprocated despite his many efforts to be seen by the Queen Bey.
On his Instagram account, Nick Cannon posted a throwback – which was a picture of himself and the gorgeous songstress.
Captioning the picture against a Throw Back Thursday hashtag, Cannon went ahead and mused over having been friend-zoned albeit he’d done everything in his power to catch Beyonce’s eye.
